Publications
Where funding is available, significant sites, especially those of wider interest, may be published publicly.
Publications may be in the form of articles in journals, monographs produced by archaeological contracting companies such as Pre-Construct Archaeology and MOLA, or many other types of book. Organisations such as Crossrail have been particularly keen on producing shorter, accessible publications with their archaeological partners quickly after the completion of the projects.
Very many reports on London’s sites are published in London Archaeologist. Other journals where such reports can frequently be found include: regional journals, such as LAMAS transactions and Surrey Archaeological Collections; period journals, such as Britannia and the Journal of Post Medieval Archaeology; and specialist journals such as The Industrial Archaeology Review.
